Bajaj Auto Trademarks Four New Names For Upcoming Two-Wheelers.

There is a possibility that Bajaj will employ the name Trekker for an adventure motorcycle and the Marathon for a three-wheeler commercial vehicle.

Indian automaker Bajaj Auto has trademarked four names over the last few weeks for its upcoming products.

This indicates that the Indian two-wheeler maker is working to launch a slew of new motorcycles and versions. In addition to that, it is expected that the new nomenclatures could be used for the upcoming CNG motorcycle that the two-wheeler giant is working on.

Bajaj Auto has registered trademarks such as Glider, Marathon, Trekker, and Freedom. According to the Hindustan Times, the OEM filed for these trademarks between January 29 and February 9 of this year. However, which name could be used for Bajaj’s upcoming CNG motorcycle still remains under wraps, as the filing of trademarks was done shortly after the automaker’s plan regarding the CNG bike was revealed.

There is a possibility that Bajaj will employ the name Trekker for an adventure motorcycle. Bajaj currently has a 250-cc engine at its disposal, which could be used to compete with models like the Suzuki V-Strom SX. The Marathon, on the other hand, could be used for a three-wheeler commercial vehicle. The names Bajaj Glider and Freedom reportedly could be used for some other products, including the upcoming CNG motorcycle. However, it is expected that the Indian two-wheeler behemoth will reveal more details in the coming months.

Notably, India is the world’s largest two-wheeler market, accounting for around 40 percent of the total global sales of two-wheelers. Bajaj Auto is one of the key players in the country, and it now plans to enter a new segment by introducing the world’s first CNG motorcycle, which is scheduled to be released this year, as the company’s Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj had previously stated.

The upcoming Bajaj CNG motorcycle would help reduce operational and fuel costs by 55–65 percent for its consumers. CNG is regarded as a cleaner fuel than petrol, as it emits almost 50 percent less carbon dioxide and 75 percent less carbon monoxide. Furthermore, CNG produces 90 percent less non-methane hydrocarbons compared to petrol. Besides being environmentally friendly, CNG is renowned as more cost-effective than petrol and provides significantly better mileage than fossil fuel.

Bajaj Auto continues to make a significant impact in the evolving landscape of two-wheeler technology. Having said that, these newly trademarked names add to the anticipation surrounding Bajaj’s innovative ventures and the potential introduction of products in the dynamic Indian two-wheeler market.
