A day after a New York judge sentenced him to pay $354.9 million in penalties for falsely misrepresenting his net worth to deceive lenders, Donald Trump launched his own line of sneakers. ”I’ve wanted to do this a long time,” the former US president said, as he unveiled what he called the first official Trump footwear at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, a gathering that bills itself as the ‘The Greatest Sneaker Show on Earth.’
According to the Associated Press, he was greeted with both loud jeers and applause. He also mentioned that occasionally, the scent of mari*uana drifted into the room while he was speaking. The news wire reported that attendees were younger and more varied than those at Trump’s typical rally gatherings.
Along with Trump-branded Victory47 cologne and perfume, which retail for $99 a bottle, the dazzling gold high tops with an American flag accent on the back are being offered for $399 on a new website under the Never Surrender High-Tops name. If elected again, Trump would become the 47th president of the United States. Though Trump campaign officials advertised the appearance in internet posts, the website claims it is unrelated to the presidential candidate.
