Family-owned indoor golf facility looking to soft open in late April in downtown Loveland – The Denver Post
A local family is currently working on opening an indoor golf facility that is expected to soft open this spring, offering residents the chance to hit the links indoors.
TeeShots, nestled along the southwest side of downtown Loveland, will function as an indoor golf entertainment and training center, offering four golf simulation bays as well as a full service bar.
Mike Bitner, co-owner with his wife Eileen Bitner and son Jeremy Bitner, said they are combining golfing and drinking.
“My favorite line is I retired a year ago (in) January and I don’t have room in my house for a golf simulator, so why not buy four,” he said.
He added that, after deciding to take on this kind of project, the family took part in a webinar on starting an indoor golf facility, a kind of business they learned were doing quite well.
“They said they are popping up all over, so set yourself apart and make it a place where people want to come and hang out and not just play golf,” he said.
Currently, the family is in the process of preparing the Cleveland Avenue building for customers. Eileen Bitner said the former machine shop building has had its difficulties in preparation, but they have had the help of many friends in getting the space ready.
The Bitners said once done they anticipate the space may have an inside tone of a private club — though one that is open to anyone. Mike Bitner said he also hopes to use some of the wall space inside to honor members of the military for their family’s ties to the armed forces, including Mike himself who served in the Air Force for 20 years.
Mike Bitner said he hopes that, once TeeShots opens, it serves as simply a great gathering space for the community, be it through events, coming by to play a few virtual rounds or just enjoy their bar.
Eileen Bitner said the family is also hoping to partner with local school golf programs to get younger golfers more chances to practice and train.
“It would be lovely to do some community outreach,” she said.
Jeremy Bitner said as of right now they hope to have a soft opening of the space in around the middle of April or into early May.
“I would like it to be just a place for anyone who is either getting into the game or who has really been in the game to have fun and hang out,” he said. “Even if you don’t like the game, we are going to have a nice bar and environment as well.
