Fitness chain picks Cherry Creek for third Denver location

0 19

The fitness chain Solidcore has secured a spot in Cherry Creek for its third Denver location.

The Virginia-based company expanded to Denver in 2022, opening first in RiNo and then on LoHi’s Platte Street. Two years later, the firm is preparing to open at 255 Fillmore St.

Solidcore signed a 10-year lease for 1,900 square feet on the ground floor of the office building developed by Matt Joblon’s Denver-based BMC Investments. BMC completed the building last year.

Joshua Rainey, Solidcore’s director of real estate, said that Cherry Creek has become a hub for boutique fitness studios, so it made sense for Solidcore to join the mix. Plus, logistically, it’s easier for customers to get to.

“For people that live south of the urban core, Cherry Creek was a great fit to provide more convenience to our clients making the journey up the expressway,” Rainey said.

Solidcore offers a Pilates-based workout that is high-intensity but low-impact. The studio uses “sweatlana” machines, which are similar to Pilates machines. The new studio will have 17 machines and 10 to 12 coaches.

“Our coaching talent is best in class, top of the industry, we have a very vigorous training and consistent program in place so our coaches are staying educated,” Rainey said.

He said the Fillmore Street location will have the same workouts and energy of the RiNo and LoHi spots, but aesthetically it will look more minimalist. Plus, it will offer valet parking. Rainey declined to disclose the cost of the buildout.

Rainey said the 10-year-old company generally anticipates opening one or two new studios a year in the Denver area, but it all depends on the real estate market, demand and available coaches.

“We really want to make sure we respect and foster a sense of community that is authentic to where our studio is,” Rainey said.

Solidcore has over 120 studios. It opened 24 studios last year and plans to open even more this year.

In addition to Solidcore, 255 Fillmore will be home to the fine-dining restaurant Le Colonial. Crusoe Energy is among the office tenants.

Other recent changes in the Cherry Creek fitness scene include the closure in November of the Orangetheory studio at 2780 E. 2nd Ave.
