The Galaxy S24 series has the best smartphone displays in the industry, according to independent reviewer DxOMark. The three new flagships from Samsung beat phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, iPhone 15s, Google Pixel Fold, OnePlus Open, Honor Magic5 Pro, and the list goes on. They are, after all, leading the pack, and nothing seems to stand in their way.

More precisely, the Galaxy S24 Ultra leads DxOMark’s Global and Ultra-Premium rankings in display quality. The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ tie for 2nd place in the Global ranking. They also tie with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

The base S24 model has the highest-ranked display in the Premium Ranking category, which includes phones that cost $600-$800. That category excludes the Galaxy S24+, which is why the Plus variant is only second to the Galaxy S24 Ultra in the Ultra-Premium segment (higher than $800).

The best mobile panels in the game

Despite some minor issues users have had with the Vivid color display mode not being colorful enough and AOD seeming a bit too dim, these new LTPO Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels employed by the Galaxy S24 series, combined with Samsung technologies like an upgraded Vision Booster and the brand-new Adaptive Color Tone, are fantastic.

Samsung increased the resolution of the Galaxy S24+ model to QHD+, and all three variants can reach a whopping 2600 nits of brightness. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 Ultra stands out thanks to its Gorilla Glass Armor screen protection.

This new Armor glass is an Ultra-exclusive feature. It not only works wonders against reflections, even in sunlight, but is less susceptible to scratches.

In fact, unlike the vast majority of smartphones, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s display doesn’t scratch at level 6 in Mohs’ hardness test, which is quite a feat that sets it apart from the rest of the pack.
