Google Bard is now available for teens: All details

0 26

Google introduced its AI chatbot Bard for users in more than 180 countries in May this year. The tech giant has now expanded the access to Bard. The company has now opened up access to Bard for teenagers. Teens who meet the minimum age requirement to manage their own Google Account will be able to access Bard in English, with more languages to come over time.

Teens can use Bard to find inspiration, discover new hobbies and solve everyday problems. For example, they could ask Bard for writing tips for a class president speech, suggestions for what universities to apply to, or ways to learn a new sport like pickleball.

Bard can serve as a valuable educational resource for teenagers, aiding them in delving further into subjects, enhancing comprehension of intricate concepts, and honing new skills through personalized learning approaches. For example, teens can engage Bard to assist in brainstorming ideas for science fair projects or delve deeper into understanding a particular historical time period.

“For even more interactive learning, we’re bringing a math learning experience into Bard. Anyone, including teens, can simply type or upload a picture of a math equation, and Bard won’t just give the answer — it’ll share step-by-step explanations of how to solve it. Bard will be able to help with data visualization, too. With this new capability, Bard can generate charts from tables or data included in a prompt — like if a teen asks Bard to show in a bar chart how many hours they volunteered across a few months,” said Google in a blog post.

In order to use Bard, teenagers need to satisfy particular age requirements determined by their location. In the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and the UK, the minimum age is 18, whereas in other accessible countries, it is either 13 or the age stipulated by their regional regulations.
