Google releases Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3 for Pixel phones

0 47

Google has released the third beta build of Android 13 QPR 3 (Quarterly Platform Release) for Pixel smartphones. The latest beta update includes fixes for UI, Wi-Fi calling, and display behaviour, among other improvements.

If you are currently enrolled in the Android Beta program, and your device is still running Android 13 QPR3 Beta 2/2.1, you will automatically receive an over-the-air (OTA) update to QPR3 Beta 3. This update will temporarily replace any pending Android 14 Beta 1 update, which you can confirm in the OTA message by checking the build number (T3B3.230413.003/.A1). However, devices on Android 14 Beta 1 UPB1.230309.014/.A1 will not receive any QPR3 Beta updates.

The latest update addresses several resolved issues, including fixes for Wi-Fi calling, system UI crashes, screen flashing, camera display, and device rebooting. Wi-Fi calling should no longer stop working due to the resolved issues.

The system should no longer get stuck on the home screen with missing app icons or encounter crashes when accessing the Wallpaper & style screen. Screen flashing that occurred in high-temperature environments should be resolved, and the camera should no longer display a black screen when opened with the power button.

This update should also fix the device rebooting that occurred when switching work profiles on or off.

There are some known issues that Google has acknowledged, such as the Recent apps list becoming unresponsive in certain situations, mainly when the screen orientation is changed while the list is active. While this update is available for all supported Pixel devices, Google has noted that it is primarily intended for users on Android 13 QPR 3 Beta 2 or 2.1.

System images for Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3 are now available for the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro. These system images are also available in the Android Emulator.
