0 65

The Uber and WhatsApp partnership is allowing people to book an Uber ride via Uber’s official WhatsApp chatbot. This integration, which is the first-of-its-kind for the ride-hailing giant, may allow people to book an Uber ride without having to download the company’s app. Within the WhatsApp chat interface, you will be able to manage everything from user registration and ride booking to getting a trip receipt.

Uber’s customers get the same safety features and insurance protection as those who book rides via the Uber app directly. On booking, they will be informed of the name of the driver and the licence plate number. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you book an Uber ride via WhatsApp.

1.

Save +91 7292000002 to your contacts list.

2.

Open WhatsApp on your phone and message the saved number “Hi” or “Hi Uber.”

3.

Send the addresses of your pick-up and drop-off points. For your pickup address, you can also share your current location.

4.

You will be given the expected fare, which will indicate how much you must pay for your ride.

5.

Confirm your preferred ride.

6.

You will receive a notification on WhatsApp itself as soon as a nearby driver accepts your request. After that, you can monitor every aspect of your ride in the chat.

Important points to note

  • This feature is only for registered mobile numbers on WhatsApp, and if you have booked a ride using an email and password, you won’t be able to use this feature.
  • Only the Delhi NCR and Lucknow regions currently have access to this feature.
  • You can now book a ride to any other location in the aforementioned region using Hindi words in addition to English, thanks to Uber’s support for both languages.

The rider can also get the safety instructions, which include information on how to contact Uber in case of an emergency. Uber’s customer service team will get in touch with the user if they choose the “emergency” option during the trip. The safety line number is also accessible for 30 minutes following the end of the trip. However, there won’t be any new changes to the cab driver’s screen.
