Method 2: Convert to plain link

  1. Launch the Mail app and paste the link. The link’s preview will appear.
  2. Hover over the link preview and click on the downward arrow to open the dropdown menu.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select the ‘Convert to Plain Link’ option. Now, every time you paste a link in this mail body, it will appear as plain text.

This method helps you manage a default setting which will disable the link preview and send the link as a plain text message. However, it is important to note that links pasted into outgoing email do not instantly become hyperlinks in plain text messages.

  1. Launch the Mail app and go to the Settings menu.
  2. Under the Composing tab, select the Plain Text option from the Message Format menu.
  3. This method will paste the URL in plain text without any hyperlinking. To enable hyperlinks, go to ‘Format’ and then ‘Make Rich Text’.
