How to use Approve New Participants feature on WhatsApp
WhatsApp has added yet another useful feature to its platform, but this time for group admins. The feature is called Approve New Participants and allows group admins to moderate and protect their groups better. Unlike earlier, new participants will have to wait until the group admin grants them permission to join the group.
There are multiple ways in which users can join a group, these include a group invite link, added by another participant in the group, a group directory in a community and a QR code. By enabling this feature in the Group Settings, the admin has to review every participant’s request before he/she can join the group.
As a member when admin approval is required to join the group, participants will see the message “An admin must approve your request” above the Request to join button. Participants will be able to share their Reason for the request with the group admins or Cancel Request. When a participant’s request is approved by the admin, the chat will reflect which group admin added the participant or if they joined using the group’s invite link.
As a group admin, users will be notified when they have pending requests to review. The admin will see a banner in the group chat or can access the Pending participants section from the Group Info page. When reviewing participants’ requests, the admin can approve or reject the request.
Here’s how to use Approve New Participants feature on WhatsApp

Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
2.
Now, tap on the group’s name for which you want to enable the feature.
3.
Tap on the WhatsApp group’s name and head to the Group Info option.
4.
Scroll down until you see the Group Settings option.
5.
Under this, tap on the Approve New Participants option.
6.
Now, select the On option from the pop-up to turn on the admin approval feature.
Conclusion
The Approve New Participants setting is turned off by default. In this case, every participant that requests to join the group will be granted admission.
