Say hello to the Huawei nova 11 Pro a phone that’s firmly seated in the upper midrange but looks like a full-on flagship.

The premium feel starts off with the retail box, which is packed with a case, a USB cable, and a 100W charger. Huawei claims it will top the phone to 100% in just 20 minutes if you don’t use it, or to 50% in 15 minutes if you do.

Huawei’s nova series has always been about design and the 11 Pro takes it to another level. We have the Black color with golden accents on the logo and around the main camera lens, but there’s a Green color that’s unique in today’s market. Both models are clad in nova Monogram Vegan Leather, which adds a touch of class and quality to the phone.

Neither black with gold accents nor gold is everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s no denying that the nova 11 Pro stands out in a sea of utilitarian slab devices.

Upfront, there’s a 6.78-inch OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10 support, and a pin-sharp 429 ppi. Packed inside is a Snapdragon 778G chipset limited to 4G, and it’s mated to 8GB of RAM. The battery is a 4,500mAh unit, with 256GB or 512GB of storage.

Camera-wise, the Huawei nova 11 Pro has two on the front and two on the back. On the front, there’s a 60MP 17mm ultrawide selfie shooter with autofocus and an 8MP 52mm portrait selfie camera also with af. On the back, there’s a 50MP wide camera and an 8MP ultrawide – again, both with autofocus.

The Huawei nova 11 Pro is shaping up to be quite a capable phone. It’s up for grabs in China for now and there’s one slight niggle with it being a valid choice on the global market. The Huawei nova 11 Pro lacks Google Play Services. Still, Huawei’s App Gallery now covers just about all the apps a normal user would need, which coupled with the excellent specs and extravagant look could make the nova 11 Pro a solid choice.
