Meta has been on a feature-addition spree for all its social media and messaging apps over the past few years. The company is making it extremely easy to express yourself. Now, it is sprucing up the Notes feature on Instagram, making it better by adding videos and supporting better replies.

Instagram Notes, which is kind of like a status update, was launched a few months ago. Earlier, it only supported text, but now, it supports videos. However, videos will be limited to just two seconds; you can loop them and add text captions. As usual, those short videos posted on Notes can also have filters and other effects. Like other video status updates, videos in Notes will vanish 24 hours after posting them.

The company is also offering more freedom to those replying to their friends’ notes. Replies to Notes now support audio messages, GIFs, images, stickers, and videos. The replies sent to Notes on Instagram will be visible to the Note uploader as a direct message in their chat inbox. The company has announced that the Notes feature has been pretty popular among teens.

Instagram is also getting a new set of tools that helps remove spam from the social media platform. The company has developed an automated detection system to check for spam content across its platform, including comments, followers, story views, and tags. It will flag spammy content and users and then give users a choice to remove them in bulk.

The company is also helping users understand if what they post is in accordance with guidelines. If a post or content violates Instagram’s content policies, users will get an in-app notification to notify them about the violation. The Hidden Words tool, released in 2021, is getting an update, and it can edit out suspected spammy content from feeds and comments.
