iPhone is Pixel’s jealous friend in Google’s new ads

0 42

Google has released a series of new ads, and these are interesting, and a bit cringey at the same time. In these ads, the iPhone (presumably the 14 Pro) is Pixel’s jealous friend, basically.

Apple’s iPhone is Pixel’s jealous friend in Google’s new ads

There are five ads here in total, and in each of them the Pixel’s features are highlighted, well, features the iPhone 14 Pro doesn’t really have. Do note that the iPhone 14 Pro is not mentioned per se, but based on the design of the phone in the videos, it’s obvious where Google is going with this.

Google is using the ‘BestPhonesForever’ hashtag for these ads. The ‘Plateau’ ad, for example, paints Apple’s device as a has been of sorts. As both devices are basically talking in these ads, the iPhone 14 Pro decided to share what he’s feeling. He says that “it’s not the same”, as in it’s not the same when people show it to their friends.

In one of the ads, the focus is mostly on the camera performance & features

The ad continues as Apple’s device shows jealousy for the Pixel 7 Pro’s camera prowess, including image sharpness, astrophotography, 30x zoom, and so on. The Pixel also offers to unblur the iPhone 14 Pro’s pictures thanks to ‘Photo Unblur’ feature, and so on. You can check out that ad below.

The other four ads are more focused on specific features. The first one aimed at several of them, and is also the longest out of the bunch.

Towards the end of the article, you’ll see Seeing Stars, Sketchy Wi-Fi, Lifesaver, and Opening Up ads. In ‘Seeing Stars’, the two phones are looking at the starry sky, but the iPhone can’t see everything the Pixel sees. Google is clearly throwing shade here.

One of the ads focuses on VPN, while the other highlights reverse wireless charging

The ‘Sketchy Wi-Fi’ ad focuses on the Pixel 7 Pro’s built-in VPN function, while the ‘LIfesaver’ ad paints the Pixel 7 Pro as a lifeguard of sorts. After the iPhone 14 Pro runs out of juice on the beach, the Pixel 7 Pro recharges it via reverse wireless charging feature, another feature the iPhone 14 Pro doesn’t have.

The last ad on the list is called ‘Opening Up’, and it stars the Pixel Fold instead of the Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel Fold is Google’s first foldable smartphone, while Apple still didn’t release its own foldable offering. You can probably see where this is going.
