Lil Nas X Promotes YoungBoy Collab With Hilarious Fake Brand Partnerships

0 67

Ahead of the arrival of his new collaboration with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Lil Nas X has hilariously promoted the single with a series of fake partnerships.

X shared the pre-save link for “Late to da Party” alongside some very goofy looking cover art that even features a Shutterstock watermark. Not long after, he shared a very obviously fake announcement that he had teamed with Grindr to offer “free cock” when people pre-save the YoungBoy-assisted track.

Lil Nas X’s second post featuring a fake partnership took it even further, and saw him team up with the homophobic dog meme.

“Do it now for a chance to see him live! calling you the famous word as seen on auntie diaries by kendrick lamar! hurry!” he wrote.

In a third post, X announced a fake partnership with MacDonalds (not McDonald’s, home of collabs with Travis Scott, Saweetie, and J Balvin, among others).

“So happy to announce I am teaming up with macdonalds to give out FREE BBLS to the first 1,000,000 ppl to presave my new single,” he tweeted, alongside an image that promised free butt lifts. This was followed by a hilarious update on the Grindr “promo.”

The Montero creator also retweeted a post that promoted a Chick-fil-A partnership, which offered a free meal on Sundays upon pre-saving “Late to da Party.” Obviously, the fast food chain is closed on Sundays, and the company has a damning track record when it comes to its treatment of the LGBTQ+ community. Another retweet offered an even more unexpected perk:

Either way, Lil Nas X appears very happy with the coverage his “partnerships” are getting. As far as promotional efforts for a new single, he’s one of the few artists out to truly satirize how bizarre rollouts have gotten in the age of perpetual brand partnerships and TikTok hits.

Nas has been busy working on new music as of late, and he was even spotted in the studio with who appeared to be Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter. The masked French duo announced their split last year.
