Ubisoft is set to launch the next title in the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise on October 12. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The game’s publisher published a new trailer for the upcoming game at the Ubisoft Forward event. The latest trailer demos the gameplay and sheds light on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, showing a better look at the new assassin, Basim. The trailer also shows the 9th-century Baghdad version that players will be able to explore in the game.

What the new gameplay trailer shows
The upcoming Assassin’s Creed title is set to be the one that returns to the style of the original games from the franchise. This trailer takes a deep dive into Mirage’s gameplay. As per the trailer, the title will include fewer RPG elements and will focus more on parkour, stealth and assassinations.

The gameplay walkthrough also showed Basim running and climbing his way through the city. During the conquest, the protagonist will also use tools like a blow dart and smoke bomb to dispatch enemies as cleanly as possible. Moreover, the gameplay trailer also shows Basim’s scout bird named Enkidu.

Last week, Ubisoft also revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will also have an optional blue-grey filter. This effect will make the game look more like the original Assassin’s Creed titles.

According to a report by Video Games Chronicle, creative director Stéphane Boudon described Mirage as “a love letter to the origins of the franchise, a coming of age story with rhythm mechanics to bring the feel of the early games into the modern day”.

Unlike the more recent wide-scale, vastly open-world titles like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Mirage will focus more on the stealth gameplay.
