Motorola has confirmed the launch of Edge 40 in India. After its debut in global markets last month, Motorola Edge 40 will launch in India on May 23. Here’s what to expect from Edge 40.

Motorola Edge 40: Specifications, features, and more
The Motorola Edge 40 features a 6.55-inch (2400×1080 pixels) FHD+ 8-bit pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The display offers up to 1200 nits brightness, is HDR10+ certified and has a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.

MediaTek’s Dimesnity 8020 chipset powers the Edge 40, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The smartphone runs Android 13 out of the box.

While the Dimensity 8020 might seem like a new chipset, it is a rebranded Dimensity 1100, which launched two years ago.

The Motorola Edge 40 comes equipped with three cameras at the back. The primary camera is a 50MP sensor with f/1.4 aperture, quad-pixel binning, and OIS. The secondary camera is a 13MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and a macro option. The third camera is a 2MP depth sensor. Additionally, the front camera is a 32MP sensor.

The Edge 40 comes equipped with a 4600mAh battery that supports 68W TurboPower fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging. The company claims that with a full charge, the battery should last for an entire day.

The company has teased that the phone will come in a version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and it will support 14 different 5G bands. In India, the phone will be available in three colours – Eclipse Black with an acrylic back, as well as Nebula Green and Lunar Blue with a vegan leather back.

There is no word on how much the Motorola Edge 40 will cost in India. The global variant of the Edge 40 is priced at 599 euros (around Rs 53,000).
