Motorola Moto X40 certified with 68W and 125W charging options

0 48

The Moto X40 series is expected to arrive on December 15, when Motorola is having an event in China. We expect two devices – a vanilla Moto X40 and a Moto X40 Pro, and the 3C listing from today revealed the former will support 125W fast charging, but will also have a slower 68W option.

Currently, the 125W standard (20V/6.25A output) is the fastest for a Motorola smartphone, and we’ve seen it in the X30 Pro and Edge 30 Ultra. The XT2301-5 will be the first vanilla Moto to get triple-digit fast charging, which would be a massive selling point for the device.

The information about two charging options is in line with the two entries we saw on TENAA earlier – one with a 5,000 mAh battery, the other with 4,500 mAh. It is safe to say only the latter will support 125W as the device needs physical room for the fast-charging hardware.
