Nothing Phone (2) confirmed to launch in July: What to expect

The second smartphone from Nothing, named Phone (2), is set to be released in July, said CEO Carl Pei in an interview with Forbes.
Pei also mentioned earlier that the Phone (2) would be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, placing it above the mid-range Nothing Phone (1), touting it to be a “premium” offering, as iterated by Pei again and again.
When asked why he chose the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 over the new 8 Gen 2 for the Phone (2), he explained that the former is better optimised with several updates, and the company values user experience over being first in the specs race. Additionally, cost was a factor in the decision-making process.
Pei also confirmed that the Phone (2) will have a 4700mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the 4500mAh battery in the Phone (1).
Pei emphasised the significance of the US market for the company’s success and revealed plans for the Phone (2). He had already said that the Phone (2) will be launching in the US, and now he believes it will be a viable alternative to the iPhone and sees a great opportunity in the US, which Apple largely dominates.

At the moment, there is not much known about the Phone (2). However, rumours suggest that the upcoming phone could improve on some specifics compared to its predecessor. According to previous rumours, the phone is expected to have a FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display and can offer up to 256GB of storage. The phone may also be available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB models, similar to the Phone (1).
We expect the Phone (2) to launch in India at the same time as its global debut, which seems to be in July, a year after the Phone (1) debut.
