Nothing Phone (2) software update brings camera improvement among other new features

Carl Pei-led Nothing introduced its second smartphone, dubbed Phone (2) last week. Now, just a few days after the smartphone went on sale, the company has released a new software update for the Phone (2).

The changelog for Nothing OS 2.0.1 includes improvements to the camera and bug fixes. Apart from the camera improvements, the latest update brings improvements to the battery life, charging speed, fingerprint reader, Face Unlock, wireless charging, network stability, and other bug fixes.

Nothing OS 2.0.1: What’s new
The camera has been improved on Phone (2) with features such as 2x zoom in portrait mode, motion capture in 50MP mode, a new photo watermark, optimised HDR effectiveness, photo clarity improvements at 4x to 10x zoom, better camera quality in third-party apps, and reduced lag and better stabilisation when shooting videos.

Nothing OS 2.0.1 also brings some new features, such as Glyph Composer has been released on the Play Store, allowing users to create and record their own Glyph Ringtones. Additionally, the Glyph Interface now features Glyph Progress for Uber, although this is still in the experimental phase.

Further, Widgets can now be added to your lock screen or Always-on-Display, and you can add your most-used Quick Settings tiles to your home or lock screen with Quick Settings widgets. Lastly, popular Nothing Machine ringtones and notification sounds from Phone (1) have been reworked and adjusted to fit the new tone for the Phone (2). Furthermore, there are four new wallpapers, and one-handed Mode is now available.

Nothing OS 2 will also be soon available for the Phone (1).

Nothing Phone (2): Specifications, features, and price
Nothing Phone (2) features a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED screen, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with up to 12GB of RAM, and Android 13 with Nothing OS 2.0. The phone also has a glyph composer for custom ringtone creation, a gently curved glass back, and a thinner midframe made of recycled aluminium. The dual 50MP camera system includes a Sony IMX890 sensor for the main camera and Samsung JN1 sensor for the ultra-wide camera. The phone also has a 4700mAh battery with support for 45W PD charging and 15W wireless charging.

The Phone (2) comes at a starting price of Rs 44,999.
