Nothing Phone (2a) will not feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7200, CEO confirms
Nothing Phone (2a) chipset will be revealed today
- Rumours and leaks have so far suggested the Nothing Phone (2a) will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor. Pei has officially confirmed that this is not the chipset that’s gonna power the Nothing Phone (2a).
- The brand did share a teaser saying that it will reveal the actual chipset on February 20th at 10:00 GMT i.e. 3:30 PM IST. Based on the teaser, it would be a deep dive on the Nothing Phone (2a)’s chipset. So in just a few hours, we’ll get to know more about the new Nothing Phone.
There’s been a lot of buzz around the Nothing Phone (2a) with even its India pricing and specs leaked ahead of the launch. Nothing Phone (2a) is tipped to cost around Rs 30,000 in India. This would make the device around Rs 6,000 less than the flagship Nothing Phone (2), which currently starts at Rs 36,000 in India. Pei also hinted that Phone (2a) will be cheaper than Phone (1). For reference, the Phone (1) launched at a starting price of Rs 32,999 in 2022.

- Display: The Nothing Phone (2a) is expected to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper.
- Cameras: It could house a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens at the back. There could be a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies.
- RAM and Storage: The smartphone could launch in two variants of 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB
- OS: Nothing Phone (2a) will most likely run Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 custom skin out of the box.
- Battery, charging: The phone’s battery capacity is under wraps, the phone could house a 45W fast charging support.
