Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 could bring design change demanded by fans

0 24

Samsung has been making foldable phones for five years now, and Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold series phones have come a long way from the first generation. However, there are a few things that still need improvement, and those things include a wider cover screen and an inner screen with a crease that’s not as visible as it is on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. One of these things could be coming with the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a squarer form factor

There have been rumors about Samsung changing the overall form factor of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to bring a OnePlus Open-like wider cover screen. Now, reliable tipster Ice Universe claims that Samsung has decided to equip the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a relatively squarer aspect ratio for the inner screen. Moreover, the curvature of the corners of the inner screen is reportedly sharper as opposed to the curved corners seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 5. The middle frame of the upcoming foldable phone reportedly has flat sides, similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This probably means that we could see a form factor that fans have been demanding from Samsung for years.

Some fans claim that the cover screen on the Galaxy Z Fold series is too narrow, and sometimes, it is quite hard to type using the on-screen keyboard. If Samsung makes the Galaxy Z Fold 6 squarer (when it is unfolded), the cover screen will likely be wider and match user demands. Some reports have also claimed that Samsung will make the Galaxy Z Fold 6 thinner than its previous-generation foldable phones.

Expected Galaxy Z Fold 6 specifications

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to feature a camera setup similar to its predecessor. It reportedly has a 50MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera, a 10MP outer selfie camera, and a 4MP inner selfie camera. The phone could also have a slightly bigger battery. The phone will likely use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor, 12GB/16GB RAM, and 256GB/512GB/1TB storage. Samsung could also launch a cheaper version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which lacks S Pen compatibility.
