OnePlus is set to unveil its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12, in China on December 5. Now, Louis Jie, the chief of OnePlus’ operations in China, has revealed what optics the upcoming OnePlus would pack in.
The OnePlus 12 will feature a 50 MP main camera with a Sony LYT-808 sensor. Jie also shared a teaser image showcasing all three Hasselblad-branded cameras, revealing that the ultra-wide shooter will have a 48 MP sensor, while the periscope lens with 3x telephoto zoom will feature a 64 MP imager. Additionally, the camera setup will include a 13-channel multi-spectral sensor to enhance its capabilities.
OnePlus 12 to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 24GB RAM, and a 2600 nits bright display
The OnePlus 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which offers 30% better performance and 20% improved power efficiency. The smartphone may come with up to 24GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and a 5400mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. It would run Android 14-based ColorOS 14 in China, while for other markets the smartphone would ship with OxygenOS 14.
The upcoming OnePlus 12 smartphone will come with a 6.82-inch X1 “Oriental” LTPO OLED screen. The display will have a resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels and offer a peak brightness of up to 2600 nits. This new display is said to be a joint development of BOE and OnePlus. Additionally, the smartphone will feature the first-generation image quality engine chip, Display P1.
