Porsche recently announced that the much-anticipated Macan EV will make its global debut on January 25 in Singapore.

Back in 2019, Porsche announced that the second-generation Macan crossover would be fully electric, with sales set to begin in 2023.

However, the Macan electric vehicle (EV) has experienced a number of delays, the majority of which have been caused by software development issues with the car’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform, which it will share with the Audi Q6 E-Tron.

As per the latest updates, Porsche has informed that the Macan EV will be unveiled on Thursday, January 25 in Singapore.

There were no new details revealed along with the announcement, but Porsche did release the first teaser image of the next-generation Macan without camouflage. A light bar stretches across the back, with a thin light element and a surround that is slightly more shaped than that of the Taycan and the new Panamera.

“The world premiere of the all-electric Porsche Macan takes place on Thursday, 25 January 2024, in Singapore.

An air vent element is located in the bumper corner, but we are unsure whether it will be functional (based on existing spy photos, it probably won’t.) Also, the new Macan will have an active rear spoiler just above the light bar, and the hatch and rear glass will be slightly higher raked than the current Macan.

Furthermore, Porsche is adopting the split headlight design trend. The distinctive four-dot LED running lights of the Macan EV are housed in upper lamp pods, but the actual high and low beams are located in a housing located lower in the bumper. Overall, the Macan EV has a fantastic appearance. It is slightly chunkier and more futuristic than the previous model, but it is still easily identifiable as a Macan and a Porsche.

Every Macan EV model will feature a 100-kWh battery pack with an 800-volt architecture, according to Jalopnik. The Macan will be available in a variety of dual-motor configurations, with the most powerful producing more than 600 horsepower. Porsche will continue to sell the current petrol-powered Macan alongside the Macan EV for at least another year or two in the U.S., though the petrol Macan will be dying sooner in Europe, Jalopnik reports.

Also coming in 2024 will be the facelift for the Taycan, which will include a new model likely called Turbo GT that recently demolished Tesla’s Nürburgring record.

In addition, the 718 Boxster and Cayman, which are expected to be revealed this year, will be the next fully electric Porsche models. Following those sports cars will come the ‘K1’ flagship electric SUV, Porsche’s first vehicle with three rows of seats.
