Realme has officially announced the name of its next flagship smartphone, the Realme GT 5. The company also confirmed that the GT 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and will launch in August 2023. The smartphone was spotted at its booth during the ongoing 2023 China Joy tech exhibition in China. While the Realme GT 5 is confirmed to debut in August in the Chinese market, the Realme GT 5 Pro is expected to launch towards the end of this year or by the first quarter of 2024.

Realme GT 5 series: What to expect
The Realme GT 5 is expected to arrive with a 6.74-inch OLED panel that produces a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The device will run on Android 13 with a layer of Realme UI 4.0 on top. It will be equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera and a triple camera unit featuring a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera on the back.

Realme GT 5 is expected to feature a 6.74-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K pixels resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen chipset, which also powers the upcoming OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. The upcoming gaming smartphone from Realme could offer up to 16GB LPDDR5 X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Realme G5 5 is expected to be backed by a 4600mAh battery with 240W charging support while the Realme GT 5 Pro could pack a 5200mAh battery with 150W charging support. Since the GT 5 Pro is rumoured to launch by the end of this year or the first half of 2024, it is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It is also reported that the Realme GT 5 Pro would be the company’s first phone to feature a periscope zoom camera.
