redmi: Redmi Note 12 Pro+ may arrive in India as Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge: What to expect
Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 12 series for its domestic market last week. The latest Redmi series includes four models — the vanilla Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and the Redmi Note 12 Discover Edition. A new rumour claims that the company might release the Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge in the Indian market. According to a report by GizmoChina, a tipster has discovered some details about the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ in an MIUI codebase. The company has not shared any official details about the new Redmi Note 12 series’ availability in the global market, including India.
Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge will succeed the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge that was unveiled in January 2022. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is also a repurposed version of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G smartphone that was earlier launched in China. The report doesn’t reveal any details about the Redmi Note 12 Pro which has already been approved by BIS and has also appeared in the IMEI database. The company might launch the new Redmi Note 12 Pro as the standard Xiaomi 12i smartphone in India.

Considering Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge to be the rebranded version of Redmi Note 12 Pro+, the device that will arrive in India is also expected to have similar specifications to the handset which has already been released in China.
Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge may sport a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display that will support — a 120Hz refresh rate, 900 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision.
