Samsung now supports Chromecast screen mirroring on Galaxy smartphones, tablets

0 46

The screen mirroring feature helps users to view content available on mobile devices on bigger screens like TVs. However, the native option to do so on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets have remained limited for a long time. Galaxy devices also don’t support screen mirroring for Google’s Chromecast platform and Android TVs. This is now changing.

According to a report by Android Police, a new change has been discovered in the labs menu hidden within One UI. This change is expected to enable Samsung users to mirror their screens on Google’s TV-related platforms.

However, it is important to note that the company already allows screen casting built into One UI (called Smart View), which works only with Miracast devices like Samsung TVs and more. As per the report, the feature worked with smartphones like Galaxy S23 Ultra and a Z Fold 4, running One UI 5.1. The report didn’t confirm if this feature will work with older versions of the software.

How to setup Google Cast on Galaxy devices
To set up the new screen mirroring on Galaxy devices, users have to enter the Smart View menu. Here, users have to tap on the three-dot icon in the top right to open settings. Users will be able to find the Smart View menu at the bottom of the screen.
