Shakira Performs at 2023 Latin Grammys

Bizarrap got behind the DJ set and brought on one of the most fiery performances of the evening. On the Latin Grammys stage Thursday, the Argentinian producer brought on guests such as Shakira and Milo J for a standout performance.

Bizarrap opened his performance from behind the DJ booth as Spanish rap star Milo J hit the stage for an electric performance of “Milo J: BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 57.”

The performance transitioned to a balladeer singing to Biza’s Quevedo session before Shakira hit the stage dancing a tango version of “Vol. 53” before singing along to the original track, which won the prize for Best Pop Song earlier in the night. Throughout the performance, Biza added new production elements as Shakira sang along while surrounded by a crew of dancers.

The crowd was singing along to the chart-topper, as Shakira’s two children — who joined her for “Acrósitico” earlier in the night — danced along. She ended the club-ready performance with a dance break, before making a heart with her hands for her kids who were spotted clapping for their mom.

“Gracias!” Shakira repeated as the crowd clapped along.

Along with their performance and collaboration win, Bizarrap took home the award for his track with Quevedo in the Best Urban Song category.

“I’m not used to talking about this… It’s a project I started in my room with a computer. Thank you so much,” Bizarrap said earlier in the evening. “With so little, you can do so much.”

With her Bizarrap collab, the Colombian pop icon turned the heartbreak of split from ex Gerard Piqué into bankable hits this year.

Shakira’s big success was reflected in her seven Latin Grammy nominations this year. She made history as the first artist to be nominated in the Song of the Year three times in a single evening. She is up for “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” “TQG,” and “Acróstico,” which features her sons Sasha and Milan in the music video. Despite being one of this year’s most-streamed artists, Shakira was snubbed with zero nominations at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Thanks in part to the success of “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with Shakira, Bizarrap earned six Latin Grammy nominations, including Producer of the Year. Bizarrap has previously released viral music sessions with Peso Pluma, Quevedo, Residente, and Villano Antillano.
