Bollywood singer Shaan recently purchased the Mercedes-Benz EQS. It is priced at Rs 1.62 crore and is finished in the Sodalite Blue paint scheme.

Bollywood singer Shaan recently purchased a Mercedes-Benz EQS, adding a touch of sustainable luxury to his garage.

Mercedes-Benz only sells the EQS in one variant: the 580 4MATIC. In India, the electric vehicle (EV) currently costs Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom).

Autohanger, a German carmaker dealership in Mumbai, shared photos of Shaan and his family receiving the luxury electric sedan on social media. Meanwhile, Shaan’s EQS is painted Sodalite Blue.

The playback singer chose the EQS 580 4MATIC model, which has a chic Sodalite Blue exterior and a Neva Grey/Balao Brown interior, as can be seen in the pictures. This luxury sedan uses a massive 107.8 kWh battery pack to power two electric motors, resulting in a total output of 523 bhp and 855 Nm of peak torque. Because this is a 4MATIC version, all-wheel drive is available, so traction should be adequate.

The EQS 580 4MATIC is powered by a 107.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack capable of delivering a claimed range of 857 km on one charge. Using a 110 kW DC fast charger, the battery pack charges from 10 per cent to 80 percent in 35 minutes.

With an amazing ARAI-claimed range of 857 kilometres, the EQS 580 dispels any range anxiety that is frequently connected to electric vehicles. Interestingly, this EQS was put together locally at Mercedes-Benz’s Chakan facility.

The car offers more benefits than just being a sustainable mode of transportation. With two motors driving it, this EV can reach 100 kmph from a standstill in 4.3 seconds, which is comparable to most ICE vehicles. Moreover, this car’s maximum speed is restricted to 210 kmph.

Mercedes-Benz aimed to make the EQS as aerodynamic as possible. As a result, the design is extremely curvy and flowing. The EQS has a drag coefficient of 0.20, making it one of the most aerodynamic production cars in the world.

Since internal combustion engines require more airflow than electric vehicles, the grille has been closed to improve airflow. The door handles are flush with the bodywork, and there are light bars on both the front and back of the vehicle.

In terms of features, this model includes a ‘Hyperscreen,’ which consists of three screens that are seamlessly connected by a single glass panel that runs the entire length of the dashboard from pillar to pillar. The driver and front passenger both have 12.3-inch screens, while the central infotainment system has a 17.7-inch display, among other features.
