Asus announces two new 480Hz OLED monitors to cover 1080p and 1440p gaming

OLED monitors are getting exciting at CES this year. Asus has just announced three new OLED monitors, and two of them are capable of hitting 480Hz refresh rates. Much like LG, Asus has a dual-mode 32-inch OLED monitor that can offer 240Hz refresh rates at 4K resolution, or 480Hz at 1080p. Asus is also announcing a 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor that’s capable of 480Hz natively. The ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP dual-mode gaming monitor can switch between 4K 240Hz and 1080p 480Hz “at any time,” according to Asus. That means if you…

Asus’ 480Hz OLED gaming monitor just won CES

Jacob Roach / Digital Trends Well, I didn’t see that one coming. Asus may have brought the first true 480Hz OLED gaming monitor to CES 2024. The ROG Swift PG27AQDP is a 1440p resolution OLED monitor that comes with a staggering 480Hz refresh rate — that alone tells you what you need to know about this beast. LG did announce its own 480Hz gaming monitor last week, but it used a dual refresh rate mode to get 480Hz at 1080p (which Asus also has in a different monitor that I mention down below). 480Hz at 1440p is…

LG just announced that it will bring a brand-new 27-inch 480Hz QHD OLED gaming display to CES 2024 in Las Vegas, which the company is calling an industry first and a “new era of OLEDS.” This panel was developed by LG Display, so it won’t actually be available for purchase. Rather, the tech will be sold to other companies for use in forthcoming gaming monitors.480Hz is a blazingly fast refresh rate, and may also be something of a bummer if you bought into last year’s 240Hz displays. This latest OLED monitor boasts QHD…

LG announces Dual-Hz OLED monitor with 4K 240Hz and FullHD 480Hz modes

LG has unveiled the range of UltraGear OLED gaming monitors that it will be showcasing during CES 2024. Chief among these is the new 32GS95UE, which has an interesting trick up its sleeve. The 32-inch 32GS95UE features what LG calls Dual-Hz. This allows the monitor to switch between two modes, one where it runs the display at its native 4K (3840x2160) resolution at a maximum of 240Hz refresh rate, and the other where it can run it at a reduced FullHD (1920x1080) resolution but at the panel's maximum 480Hz refresh rate.…

Sounds solid; I guess we’re done here… But wait, there’s more.
