Elder Scrolls meets Fallout Shelter in this new mobile title from Bethesda

Bethesda is the company that brought us the Elder Scrolls series and it also brought us Fallout Shelter back in 2015. The latter was a smash hit game that was announced along with Fallout 4. Since then, it appears that Bethesda wanted to merge two of its most popular IPs together, to create Elder Scrolls Castles. The company announced this game back in September of 2023 and we’ve been pretty excited to get our hands on it. Today, it confirmed that Elder Scrolls Castles has had a soft launch on both iOS and Android. The…

Fans spot a Quake 6 teaser hidden in the Indiana Jones trailer

Last week, many of us were excited to see the official reveal trailer of MachineGames’ upcoming Indiana Jones title The Great Circle. But footage shown at Developer Direct last week appears to be hinting at the return of Quake. During the showcase of the upcoming Indiana Jones release – at around the 11:35 mark – we see a quick shot of a whiteboard, covered in barely legible red ink. However, among these scrawls you can clearly make out the iconic logo from the first Quake game.…

Starfield’s slightly delayed update is now out in Steam Beta

Oh, Starfield. We all had such hope for you. You’re not a bad game, of course, but there was definitely some lost potential there. Still, you won a Steam award which is nice, and you’re kicking off the new year with the game’s first major update. Originally due to come out on Wednesday, Bethesda released a major patch for Starfield to Steam Beta yesterday, which aims to fix a number of bugs. If you take a look at the official website, you’ll see exactly what version 1.9.47.0 comes with. A quick scroll down the list…

Starfield’s big update has been pushed back slightly

At some point today, Bethesda was scheduled to roll out a big update for Starfield, complete with bug fixes a-plenty. However, there’s been a slight change to that, as the studio has had to delay the patch, but hopefully not by much. According to a recent post on Twitter, the team has “discovered an issue we want to address” before the Starfield update can see the light of day. It doesn’t say what this issue actually is, but Bethesda evidently needs a little more time before it can be sent out. We discovered an issue we…

Starfield’s first major update of 2024 delivers bugfixing, mostly

Though it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, Starfield certainly has made a name for itself among gaming audiences. The developer, Bethesda, is thankfully not dropping its post-launch updates anytime soon. The game’s latest update is about to get a beta very, very soon, in fact. As Bethesda promised late in 2023, Starfield is due to receive major, meaningful patches every six weeks or so in 2024. This improvement to the game’s updating cadence won’t be dropping in until sometime in February, but the good news is that…

Pilotable mechs are coming to Starfield, thanks to a modder

It’s been a weird trajectory for Starfield. It went from being the most anticipated game of this generation to boring the pants off players to winning a Steam Award (though some are curious as to how that came to be). In any case, it hasn’t quite gone away yet, and the modding community is still engaging with it. One such example comes from user Korodic, who’s attempting to put something into Starfield that Bethesda never did. It’s mechs. I’m talking about being able to control giant mechs. To be honest, the title…

Skyrim mod makes NPCs react realistically to friendly fire

If you’ve never tried a Skyrim mod before – either on PC or console – you are truly missing out. The vanilla release just doesn’t seem to cut it these days for a lot of fans, so the modding community has dedicated itself to making TES5 as brilliant, everlasting, and immersive as all get out. With that in mind, Nexus Mods user JaySerpa is back once more with further Skyrim improvements. This time, they’ve made it so NPCs react to being attacked by one of their friends. The video below shows it in action.…

If you haven’t checked out the remaster of Elder Scrolls 2, now’s the time

Long-time players of The Elder Scrolls series will need no introduction to Daggerfall, the second entry in Bethesda’s fantasy franchise. However, if you have never played this absolute classic – albeit wholly retro-looking – RPG, now’s the perfect time. You see, the Daggerfall Unity project has finally released version 1.0 of this unofficial remake (thanks, PCGamesN), which you can download from GitHub. Intended as a more stable release of previous builds, this update represents the next stage of a recreation that’s been…

Long-awaited Fallout 4 mod, Fallout London, announces release date

It’s been a long time coming, but the ambitious Fallout London mod is on the horizon. The bad news is that the team has been unable to meet its intended 2023 deadline. The good news, however, is that the fan-made Fallout 4 project is just a few months away from release. In the latest dev video diary, narrator and voice actor Drew Faithwaite has given the skinny on where things are at with Fallout London. As of now, the project is pretty much complete, save for some testing. After all the hard work and dedication,…

London is finally coming this April

The impressive-looking Fallout: London mod for a couple of years, and now the fan-made adventure of April 23. The development team says the game's already finished, but it requires these last few months for testing, This is a “DLC-sized mod” for Bethesda’s Fallout 4, so it was built from the bones of the 2015 sequel. As you can guess, it gives players free rein over a post-apocalyptic London. The release date trailer shows iconic locations like Big Ben, Shakespeare's Globe and Trafalgar Square, among others. Of course,…
