nvidia blackwell gpu: Spotlight on Blackwell GPU, Groot at Nvidia techfest

Two small bipedal robots walked onto the stage set in the hockey stadium at the SAP Centre, San Jose, to accompany Jensen Huang, chief executive of artificial intelligence (AI) superchip-maker Nvidia. These mini robots ‘Orange’ and ‘Green’ were creations of Disney Research which learnt to walk with Nvidia’s simulator. The padding of their little feet sent roars of cheers among a crowd of 12,000 people who gathered to hear Huang’s keynote speech heralding a new era of AI computing and robotics. Nvidia announces the Blackwell B200 GPU for AI computing

During its GPU Technology Conference, Nvidia announced the world's most powerful chip for AI-related computing called GB200 powering up the Blackwell B200 GPU. It's a successor to the H100 AI chip and offers huge improvements in performance and efficiency. The new B200 GPU is capable of 20 petaflops of FP4 thanks to the 208 billion transistors inside the chip. Additionally, the GB200 has 30 times the performance of H100 in LLM inference workloads while reducing the energy consumption 25-fold. In the GPT-3 LLM…

Nvidia Wants to Replace Nurses With AI for $9 an Hour

Nvidia announced a collaboration with Hippocratic AI on Monday, a healthcare company that offers generative AI nurses who work for just $9 an hour. Hippocratic promotes how it can undercut real human nurses, who can cost $90 an hour, with its cheap AI agents that offer medical advice to patients over video calls in real-time.Like It or Not, Your Doctor Will Use AI | AI Unlocked“Voice-based digital agents powered by generative AI can usher in an age of abundance in healthcare, but only if the technology responds to…

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveils next-gen ‘Blackwell’ chip family at GTC

Huang opened his presentation with an overview of the increasing size of AI workloads, noting that the most powerful chips would spend 30 billion seconds, or 1,000 years to train.  NvidiaNvidia's H100 GPU, the current state of the art chip, delivers on the order of 2,000 trillion floating-point operations per second, or, 2,000 TFLOPS. A thousand TFLOPS is equal to one petaFLOP, ergo, the H100, and its sibling, H200, can manage only a couple of petaFLOPS, far below the 30 billion to which Huang referred. Also: Making

NVIDIA says its Blackwell GPUs are the world’s most powerful chips

NVIDIA’s H100 chips are used by nearly every AI company in the world to train large language models hooked into services like ChatGPT. It’s been great for business. Now, the company is ready to make those chips look terrible, announcing a next-generation platform called Blackwell.Named for David Harold Blackwell, a mathematician who specialized in game theory and statistics, NVIDIA claims Blackwell is the world’s most powerful chip, reaching speeds of 20 petaflops compared to just 4 petaflops the H100 provided. Yeah,…

Blackwell Architecture Will Accelerate AI Products in Late 2024

NVIDIA’s newest GPU platform is the Blackwell (Figure A), which companies including AWS, Microsoft and Google plan to adopt for generative AI and other modern computing tasks, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced during the keynote at the NVIDIA GTC conference on March 18 in San Jose, California. Meet Blackwell, Nvidia’s next-generation GPU architecture

Nvidia We finally have our first taste of Nvidia’s next generation of GPUs, named Blackwell. Sure, they’re built for enterprises, and no, they won’t run Cyberpunk 2077 (at least not officially). But this is the first look we’ve have at what Nvidia is cooking up for its RTX 50-series GPUs, which are rumored to launched sometime in the next year. The GPU we have today is the B200 — Blackwell 200, if you can spot it — that comes packed with 208 billion transistors. The architecture is built on TSMC’s 4NP node, which is…

NVIDIA’s GPUs powered the AI revolution. Its new Blackwell chips are up to 30 times faster

In less than two years, NVIDIA’s H100 chips, which are used by nearly every AI company in the world to train large language models that power services like ChatGPT, made it one of the world’s most valuable companies. On Monday, NVIDIA announced a next-generation platform called Blackwell, whose chips are between seven and 30 times faster than the H100 and use 25 times less power.“Blackwell GPUs are the engine to power this new Industrial Revolution,” said NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at the company’s annual GTC event in San…

The Islander by Chris Blackwell review – maverick who brought Bob Marley to the masses | Music books

Nineteen sixty-two was a big year for Jamaica and Chis Blackwell alike. The country gained its independence and hosted the first James Bond movie, Dr No, on which Blackwell worked as a fixer, recommending locations and recruiting his musician friends as grips, extras, even as musicians. So impressed was co-producer Harry Saltzman that he offered Blackwell a job as his PA. The 25-year-old wavered; he was already knee-deep in Jamaica’s frantic music industry and about to leave the island to establish his own label, Island,…
