vmware: EU antitrust regulators extend decision on Broadcom, VMware deal to June 26

BRUSSELS - EU antitrust regulators extended on Friday their deadline for a decision on U.S. chipmaker Broadcom's proposed $61 billion bid for cloud computing firm VMware by three days to June 26.The deadline was extended in agreement with the companies, a European Commission spokesperson said. Broadcom Chief Executive Hock Tan last week sought to convince the European Commission of the merits of the deal at a closed hearing. Qualcomm has agreed to acquire an Israeli fabless chipmaker called Autotalks, and according to TechCrunch, the deal will cost the company around $350 to $400 million. Atomera, STMicro sign deal to use new chipmaking material

Atomera Inc, a Silicon Valley firm with a new material for improving semiconductors, on Wednesday said it has signed a deal with STMicroelectronics NV under which the European chipmaker could start using Atomera's technology in production.
