How to respec in Final Fantasy 16

Final Fantasy 16 tells an intriguing story that is overflowing with incredible set-piece moments and lovable characters, but the meat and potatoes of any good action RPG is its combat. Luckily, the newest entry in Square-Enix’s long-running franchise packs quite a versatile and flashy set of abilities to use while fighting main character Clive’s many foes, giving you the opportunity to fine-tune your combat style and ensure you’re prepared for anything the game throws at you. However, it’s perfectly normal to want to…

How long is Final Fantasy 16?

JRPGs are notorious for being heavy time investments. Some, such as Persona 5 and other Final Fantasy entries, can easily go on for over 100 hours without adding in side content. On the other hand, there are some Final Fantasy games that lean on the shorter side. With Final Fantasy 16 taking a far more action-focused approach to combat, some might expect this to be a shorter entry, but that isn’t necessarily the case. There are plenty of factors that will impact how many hours you spend in the world of Valisthea, so…

Final Fantasy XVI’s Dark Approach Is Very Game of Thrones

Before the release of the Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Shadowbringers, game director Naoki Yoshida joked that George R.R. Final Fantasy XVI’s first 3 hours play like a fantasy Last of Us

When I demoed Final Fantasy XVI back in February, I had some questions. The slice I played was very much focused on the upcoming PS5 release’s combat system. I was immediately impressed with how fast and furious it was, bringing a bit of Devil May Cry to the RPG series. That said, there was quite a bit I didn’t see. The story mission I played would only give me a brief introduction to its hero, Clive Rosfield, and the war-torn nation in which the game takes place. I was itching to know more. I’d get all those…

Final Fantasy XVI just got an extended gameplay reveal at PlayStation's State of Play event, held early Friday. The 25-minute-long footage touched upon the game's summonable Eikons and combat, as producer Naoki Yoshida stressed that there's no requirement for one to have played the previous games. In fact, Final Fantasy 16 functions as an entirely separate entry — even mechanics-wise, incorporating real-time action and RPG features akin to Devil May Cry. It's the first in the long-running franchise to get rid of its…
