Google reached a settlement with Texas Attorney General Paxton on Friday for allegedly falsely advertising its Google Pixel 4 smartphone. The advertisements aired on iHeartMedia using radio DJs to promote the devices by broadcasting detailed testimonials, although Google reportedly never provided a phone for them to test. FP StaffNov 30, 2022 12:46:34 ISTThe FTC or Federal trade commission and a number of states in the United States announced that Google and iHeartMedia had settled a case where they were accused of airing misleading and fraudulent ads of the Pixel 4 over the radio.  The settlement bars Google from making misrepresentations in endorsements of its products for 20 years. The US Federal Trade Commission and seven US states reached a settlement with Alphabet Inc's Google and iHeartMedia Inc over allegations of deceptive ads promoting Google's Pixel 4 smartphone, the FTC said. the FTC said in a statement on Monday that the companies aired nearly 29,000 deceptive endorsements by radio personalities promoting their use of and experience with Google's Pixel 4 phone in 2019 and 2020. The allegations were settled by the companies, who agreed to pay $9.4 million in penalties, the FTC said.Read…
