Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s second wave of DLC tracks is coming August 4th

Nintendo has announced a release date — August 4th — for the next DLC courses coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This second wave includes eight courses, the same as what we saw when the first wave launched in March. They’re mostly based around tracks found in previous Mario Kart games, but there’s one that’s brand new: an ice cream-themed course called Sky-High Sundae. Running down the returning tracks from previous games, there’s Kalimari Desert from the N64 version of Mario Kart, Mario Circuit 3 from the SNES, Mushroom…

It’s that Smurfs Kart game we’ve been waiting on. SMURFS. KART.

It doesn’t even have the French Goth one When esoteric publisher Microids announced that we were getting five Smurfs games in as many years, we all laughed, then we cried a little, then laughed more to alleviate the pain. But it seems that we all had a lot of growing up to do, as Microids has channeled that bemusement into sadistic determination. Following up the fall 2021 release of platform adventure The Smurfs: Mission Vileaf, the French publisher has now moved on to that second video game genre detailed in the Big…

Gif: Universal Studios HollywoodJoin the other fast family, the Mario Bros. This Mario Kart Live setup is extremely cool

All four karts and Switch units safely housed in one place Nearly two years ago when Mario Kart Live arrived, I said that what you got out of it will vary from household to household, and that rings true to this day. And it looks like Reddit user fiveonthakush got a lot out of it with this Mario Kart Live setup. Their case is a masterpiece, in that it holds four playable karts, as well as four units of Switch hardware: which double as the controllers and screen in which to view the karts as they race around a…

Modder hooks their Power Glove up to Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

The power of gaming in the palm of your hand The Power Glove is one of the more infamous retro peripherals around, using a gauntlet to strap a controller fully onto your wrist. It’s meant for older Nintendo consoles, but modder Will It Work? on YouTube used the controller to wire it up to something a bit more modern in Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. Will It Work has many videos, breaking down how they connect disparate controllers and consoles together. There are some wild connections like the Donkey Kong bongos hooking…

Finally, there’s a King of the Hill kart racing game

Apple Arcade is adding a surprising new kart racing game this month called Warped Kart Racers. The title mashes up characters and locations from four 20th Television animated series: King of the Hill, Family Guy, American Dad, and Solar Opposites. The new title is exclusive to Apple’s gaming service and can be played on iOS devices via touch controls or with a controller. It’s a standard kart racer taking heavy cues from the Mario Kart series. Players will race around tracks while tossing items at their opponents and…
