Biden Allies Prefer Run vs. Ron DeSantis Than Donald Trump – Rolling Stone

Ron DeSantis has centered his presidential campaign around the idea that he, and not Donald Trump, is the Republican candidate who can beat Joe Biden. That’s why Democrats have “picked” Trump as their preferred candidate. Unfortunately for the Florida governor, Biden’s team is now saying the exact opposite. Some of Biden’s closest confidants have in recent weeks told the president that DeSantis has performed so poorly in the primary, that the governor would likely be notably weaker than the twice-indicted…

Why I still prefer dual monitors over ultrawide displays

Oh, ultrawide monitors, how I have coveted thee. Whether it’s the ultrabright mini-LED models, or the ultra-gorgeous OLEDs, there is a lot to love about the latest crop of ultrawide monitors. They’re very much the vogue display type if you’re buying a premium monitor, especially for gaming. But as much as these new displays are beautiful, and objectively far more impressive than the monitors I use day-to-day, I still prefer dual monitors. They might have bezels between them (in my case they might even be…

Like humans, elephants also prefer variety at dinner time

Now researchers have discovered it's the same for African elephants, whose diverse and individualistic food selection shows they're incredibly discerning at the dinner table. While the huge herbivores have a base diet of staples – also not unlike us – they eat a massive range of plant taxa, with one animal even showing to have more than 100 different species present in their poop sample.A global team of scientists including Brown University…

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at 70: Marilyn Monroe remains a dazzling star | Marilyn Monroe

Last year’s Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde broke up its parade of visceral suffering heaped upon the woman born Norma Jeane Mortenson with an acknowledgement of one injustice not of the physically invasive persuasion. We learn that while working on Howard Hawks’ superlative Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (which turns 70 years old this weekend), she received a paltry rate of $500 a week, while her comparatively better-known co-45star Jane Russell raked in a sum-total fee in the amount of $200,000. On this point, director Andrew…
