Tata Punch EV to be kitted out with a 360-degree camera and all four disc brakes

The Tata Punch EV has been a much talked about a product that is finally taking shape towards its production-ready guise. In the recent spy shots, the Tata Punch EV seems to have picked up a new design for the diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Punch EV will also get rear disc brakes to facilitate better multi-level regen and improved stopping power.

The Tata Punch EV spy shots also reveal parts of the interior which too have been updated. The new Punch EV gets a new two-spoke steering wheel that was first seen in the Tata Curvv concept. The new steering wheel will also get a new illuminated logo as well as capacitive touch controls. Feature add-ons will also attract the inclusion of a 360-degree camera system, which has already been deployed on the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari. The Punch EV will get the electronic gear selector as on the Nexon EV MAX and could also get an electronic parking brake.

The spy shot reveals that the test mule still houses the older 7-inch infotainment unit. In recent times, Tata has begun updating cars higher up in its lineup with the new Harman-sourced 10.25-inch touchscreen which offers better resolution, intuitive graphics and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It’s unclear if the new unit will be shipped to the upcoming Tata Punch EV.

The Tata Punch EV is expected to use the tried and tested Ziptron powertrain under the hood; however, the exact battery and motor specifications are currently unknown.
