The Juicy Seafood will start serving fried catfish baskets, boiled crawfish, soft-shell crab, shrimp, lobster, alligator and more to customers in Longmont beginning this summer.

The franchise restaurant, which will be at 2341 Clover Basin Drive, plans to open in late June or early July, according to managing partner Alfredo Ferradas.

“Seafood, right now, is growing a lot, especially the cajun-style,” Ferradas said in an interview last week.

Currently, Ferradas works as general manager of The Juicy Seafood in Aurora where he has met quite a few customers who made the trek from northern Colorado to the eatery for its fried and boiled offerings.

Although the exact menu for The Juicy Seafood in Longmont is still being finalized, Ferradas expected it to look nearly identical to that of the Aurora location’s, with a few changes and additions such as a lobster po’ boy.

Ferradas cites the Combo 5, which comes with a lobster tail, a half-pound of snow crab, a half-pound of shrimp (no head), a piece of corn and two potatoes for roughly $35, as the Aurora location’s most popular menu item.

The Juicy Seafood also offers larger, boiled platters for parties of two or more.

Guests can choose from a variety of sauces and seasonings to accompany their seafood including original cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper or a mixture of all three known as “The Juicy Special.”

The Juicy Seafood in Longmont will not have a sit-down bar area but will serve beer, wine and cocktails.

Ferradas envisioned the forthcoming restaurant employing between 25 and 30 people and being able to accommodate nearly 100 customers at a time.

The Juicy Seafood in Longmont will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

“We are all about quality,” Ferradas said. “Having such a good reputation here … we have to keep that.”
