The next Nintendo Switch game trial is Cadence of Hyrule, and you should definitely play it

0 20

You can download it from May 1 through May 7

Cadence of Hyrule was one of those “instantly out” E3 games of old, and in 2019, it was a stunner. Nintendo typically doesn’t lend out its IP to just any studio, and Brace Yourself Games seemingly hit the jackpot with a version of Crypt of the Necrodancer based on the classic Zelda series. Not only did it have the great foundation from Necrodancer in tow: but it also expanded on the original concept in many ways, while adding a ton of Zelda-related flair. I really enjoyed it and couldn’t put it down for weeks, and you can share that same experience soon: for free.

Well, free is relative, as you’ll need to be a part of the Nintendo Switch Online program (thankfully it’s not gated behind the Expansion Pack) to partake. The next Game Trial, as confirmed by Nintendo, is none other than Cadence of Hyrule, which will be free to play from May 1 at 10AM PT through May 7 at 11:59PM PT.

Remember that Nintendo typically adds in Game Trial “bonus missions,” so booting it up (even if you just own the full version) could net you some Platinum Points. As a reminder, if you want physical rewards, you can find our full Platinum Point guide here, which has been updated with details on weekly missions: bookmark it for when you need quick points for a reward. A handful of points is incredibly easy to get, as that’s basically just 15 minutes with Super Mario Run, or a quick sign-on to the 3DS or Wii U 3Shop. Also remember that any shipments are bundled together, so you can pay a flat rate for multiple items instead of paying it each time. Just know that items go out of stock on My Nintendo frequently, and some are never restocked.

Cadence of Hyrule is on sale, too

As part of the “double header” bonus that Game Trials offer, you’ll also be able to buy the game outright for 50% off. That includes the base game and the DLC, and that particular offer ends on May 14 at 11:59PM PT.
