While we wait for the March update for Google Pixel phones, which is not coming today as it should have been, the changelog for the coming update has surfaced on the internet ( via 9to5Google). The changelog details the changes and features coming to Google’s lineup of Pixel smartphones this month.

Health Connect to come pre-installed on Pixel smartphones
Included in the March Feature Drop is the Health Connect app, which will come pre-installed on Pixel phones that are compatible. Before this update, users would have had to download the app from the Google Play Store. With Health Connect, users can securely store and link data from their compatible health and fitness apps, while maintaining their privacy. Users have control over which types of data they share and with whom they share it.

Improved “Night Sight” for Pixel 6 series
The one significant improvement that arrived with the latest Pixel 7 series was the improved Night Sight. Well, that is now coming down to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, allowing users to take better pictures in low-light conditions without flash.

According to Google, the Tensor chip has enabled “new algorithms” that make Night Sight capable of producing low-light photos even faster. The”Night Sight” on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro now only needs half of the normal exposure time to produce sharper than before low-light images.

Apart from this, there is no major change coming for the Pixel 6 series.

Magic Eraser comes to all Pixels
The list of changes also indicates that the Magic Eraser feature, which removes unwanted elements from photos, is now accessible to all Pixel users. In addition, the update includes Camouflage, a feature that minimises the colour and tone of distracting objects in photos.

Fall Detection for Pixel Watch
With the latest update, owners of Pixel Watches will now have access to Fall Detection. This feature will automatically alert emergency services if the watch detects a fall and the user fails to respond or move after 90 seconds. The Pixel Watch’s Fall Detection is designed to differentiate between a severe fall and a minor stumble so that it won’t trigger false alarms.

The March update will also bring some bug fixes with the Android 13 QPR2 beta.

To check for the update, go to Settings > System > System update.
