This OnePlus phone is ‘inspired’ by Jupiter

We are not even halfway into the year, and OnePlus has launched not one, two but a third OnePlus 11. This OnePlus 11 is out of the earth and comes straight from Jupiter. Not literally, as it is dubbed OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Special Edition, which has a back cover that resembles Jupiter.

OnePlus says that the back cover on the Jupiter Rock Special Edition uses the “natural graining” technology that offers different textures and distribution every time, so each special edition of the OnePlus 11 is slightly different, literally special.

The Jupiter-inspired back cover of the OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Special Edition is made of “3D microcrystalline rock,” though it looks much like wood. Furthermore, the SIM ejector pin that comes with the device uses the same microcrystalline rock.

OnePlus says the material is skin-friendly and does not attract smudges. Additionally, the phone is designed to be both wear-resistant and antibacterial. Complementing the overall colour scheme and Jupiter-inspired theme, the middle frame is painted in a golden hue. The back will feel like a jade stone that’s been washed by water “for thousands of years,” says the company.

Apart from all the cosmetic changes, it is the same OnePlus 11 that comes in black and green colours. So, you get a 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a 50MP triple camera setup with Hasselblad‘s tuning, and 100W charging support.

Right now, the OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Special Edition remains exclusive to China. There is no word on when or if the special edition OnePlus 11 would arrive in India and other markets.

The OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Special Edition comes at a price of CNY 4,899 (around Rs 58,900), nearly the same as the standard OnePlus 11 is priced in India. The smartphone will be available to purchase starting April 3 in China.
