Microsoft‘s collaboration tool Teams has got an update which brings it a redesigned look and a slew of features. The latest version features a sleek and straightforward interface, an integrated Microsoft Loop, upgraded meeting experiences, and flexible customisation options, rendering it an indispensable tool for any project.

Here’s everything new coming to Microsoft Teams

Better channel experience
Microsoft Teams has revamped its channel experience to enhance its user-friendliness and navigation. One of the noticeable changes is the new post-and-reply interface at the top, which offers a more familiar experience to users who can send and read new posts with ease.

Leveraging Microsoft Loop
Microsoft Loop, a new app that fosters fast, dynamic collaboration by using components, is now integrated into Teams chats. You can now work directly on a Loop component without ever leaving the app.

Design improvements for a better meeting experience
The latest update brings design improvements for stage and presenter views. You can now see meeting participants while presenting, giving you full context and control.

Refresh look
The new design features native materials like Windows 11 Mica, which helps Teams better blend into your workspace. The canvas colour has been changed from grey to white, and the signature purple Teams colour has been dialed back to be more purposeful in its use.

Group profile picture and theming
The new chat experience now includes the option to add group profile pictures and themes, providing greater customization possibilities. By using unique avatars or colors, it becomes simpler to navigate and give individuality to the groups that you interact with frequently.

More expressive
The new Teams app will have more collaborative and expressive features, such as the “together emoji” which results in a playful animation when two people high-five each other. The app will also offer new Teams backgrounds, categorized based on emotional states, to allow users to express themselves in unique environments
