Apple has announced that its Worldwide Developers Conference, also known as WWDC, begins on June 5th. The entire event will be held online from June 5th to June 9th, except the first day, which will be an in-person experience at Apple Park, much like last year.

In the past, Apple has typically announced the upcoming versions of its operating systems, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and occasionally tvOS, which happens on the first day. There have been some surprises, too, including new MacBooks, M2 chip, and more. This year that surprise could be the much awaited mixed-reality headset. We can also expect the M3 chip to make its debut at developers conference this year.

Online sessions for developers and more
At WWDC, Apple will offer online sessions and labs for developers to learn about new features and software, alongside the Swift Student Challenge, and applications are open until April 19.

An all-day in-person event for select developers and students will take place on June 5 at the Apple Park campus, featuring the keynote and State of the Union videos, meetings with Apple employees, and the Apple Design Awards. Certain program members can submit attendance requests and prior challenge winners until April 5, with selections made by random lottery.

There is going to be a lot of developer talk but what’s in for users? Well, we can expect the iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 and watchOS 10 to break the cover. Also expected is the mixed-reality headset, which is said to be targeted towards developers, but should be available to purchase for all.
