WhatsApp may soon allow iPhone users to share status updates on Facebook Stories

Meta-owned popular instant messaging service WhatsApp keeps on adding new features to improve user experience. The social media giant also owns other popular platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Meta is reportedly developing a new feature that will sync your WhatsApp status updates with Facebook Stories. With this feature, users won’t even have to exit WhatsApp to do so.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program. This update will bring the messaging app to version 23.7.0.75 on iPhones. The latest update has revealed that the company is working on an optional feature that will enable users to share their WhatsApp status updates to Facebook Stories without leaving the app. This feature is expected to arrive with a future update of the app.

How will it work
Currently, WhatsApp allows sharing status updates to Facebook stories. However, for doing so, users have to take the extra step of manually sharing the update each time they post something new. This feature which is under development is expected to make this process more direct for certain selected status updates when enabled.

The report includes a screenshot which explains how this feature will improve the way a status update is shared to Facebook Story. It is important to note that users will be decide which status updates get automatically shared. This option will offer users more control over their WhatsApp status updates.
