WhatsApp recently introduced the ability to pin multiple messages in a chat. The popular messaging app has now started rolling out a new layout for the status updates header.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned app has started rolling out a revamped layout for the status updates header. The new layout is presently available only for Android beta testers and users need to install update version 2.23.26.3 to access the feature.

As per the report, WhatsApp is rolling out two additional buttons in the status updates header to select beta testers: a camera icon and a pencil icon. These buttons offer users streamlined and contemporary shortcuts, allowing them to effortlessly share images, videos, GIFs, and text as status updates with their contacts, enhancing the overall user experience.

“Previously, WhatsApp featured two floating action buttons to facilitate content sharing on the status. However, with the inclusion of channels in the Updates tab, these floating buttons became less coherent. By integrating the camera and pencil icons into the status updates header, we believe that WhatsApp aims to enhance the user experience by maintaining a cleaner and more organised appearance,” mentions the report.

WhatsApp rolls out Channel Alerts feature
Recently, WhatsApp introduced the Channels Alerts feature for beta testers. As per WABetaInfo, this feature has been made available to Android beta testers in the app’s version 2.23.26.6 update.

The Channel Alerts feature aims to enhance the user experience for channel administrators by offering real-time updates on the status of their channels, particularly regarding any suspensions. With this feature, administrators can receive notifications about possible violations of WhatsApp’s policies. Furthermore, administrators have the option to initiate a review of their suspension directly through the Channel Alerts screen.
