WhatsApp recently started rolling out the redesigned keyboard with emoji bar for Android users. Now the Meta-owned platform is working on a new feature to filter conversations within the chat list.

As reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is developing a new filter button for the app. The feature is presently available for Android beta testers. In order to use the feature you need to install the Android beta version 2.23.14.17. “WhatsApp has plans to introduce three filters at the top of the chat list, taking the place of the tabs that were previously located there before being replaced by the bottom navigation bar. These filters include options for organizing chats based on unread messages, personal conversations, and business-related chats. While these filters cater to specific categories of chats, the absence of a dedicated filter for group chats is definitely noticeable,” mentions the report.

The ability to filter the chat list is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app.
