Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand Redmi is set to expand its product portfolio in the Indian market. The Chinese tech company will launch a new smartphone under its Redmi number series. Redmi 12, the company’s new smartphone is confirmed to launch in India on August 1. Xiaomi took to Twitter where it confirmed the availability of the upcoming Redmi 12 smartphone.
In a recent development, the company has teased the Redmi 12 on Amazon website, confirming the availability of the smartphone. It has also been confirmed that the smartphone will be available on Amazon website. Earlier this year, the company launched the Redmi 12 in its home market, China. The company has teased a crystal glass design of the smartphone and a triple rear camera setup for the upcoming smartphone.
Redmi 12 launched in China
Redmi 12 features a 6.79-inch LCD display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM. Redmi 12 comes in 128GB and 256GB storage options, with a separate memory card slot to expand the storage. The smartphone runs MIUI 14-based Android 13 operating system. Redmi 12 sports a triple rear camera with 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and 2MP macro camera. On the front, there’s an 8MP camera for selfies and video chats.
The smartphone comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and the IP53 rating makes the device dust and splash-resistant. The entry-level Android smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
