Zuckerberg: Elon Musk’s cage match challenge to Mark Zuckerberg: Where it all started

0 30

Newsrooms and social media are full of chatter about Twitter owner Elon Musk’s cage match challenge to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. While the development has attracted eyeballs globally, little is known about the reason behind why this happened.

The ‘foundation’ of this cage match was laid earlier this month when it was reported that one of Meta’s top executives gave a sneak peek to employees about Instagram’s Twitter competitor, at a company-wide meeting.

At the meeting, Meta chief product officer Chris Cox called the app “our response to Twitter”. He explained that the app will use Instagram’s account system to populate a user’s information.

Replying to this comment, Musk said that he was “up for a cage match”. Zuckerberg agreed in an Instagram story and Musk replied with the place [Las Vegas] the match would take place.

Meanwhile, a report said that UFC president Dana White confirmed that Musk and Zuckerberg are ‘dead serious’ about the prospect of squaring up against each other.
