Deals: vanilla and plus iPhones are £100 off at Amazon

0 31

Amazon has dropped the prices of the iPhone and iPhone Plus from the last three generations by £100, including the most recent 15 series. Let’s start with the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus as they received some serious upgrades compared to their predecessors.

This includes a Dynamic Island (Apple talk for a pill-shaped punch hole), though still no dynamic refresh rate. Also, the main camera on the back has a 48MP sensor with good 2x in-sensor zoom. And, of course, this generation is the first with USB-C.

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus still use a notch and 12MP main cameras and Lightning adapters. Plus, their chipsets are a year older. On the plus side, both phones are £100 cheaper than their 15-series counterparts, which is the cost of a storage upgrade (128GB to 256GB).

The 13-series didn’t have a plus and the 13 mini units in stock were all refurbished. You can still grab a new iPhone 13, though. That is £100 less than the iPhone 14, which is money you can spend on extra storage – if you’re going to use a phone with a notch, 12MP camera and a Lightning adapter anyway.

We’re switching gears and looking at smartwatches next. The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic is equipped with a rotating bezel, plus advanced health tracking features – ECG and a blood pressure monitor (note that these features only work with a Galaxy phone). We’ve linked both sizes (47mm and 43mm) in both Bluetooth and LTE flavors.

If you’re looking for something more compact, the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 has 44mm and 40mm models that have the exact same screen sizes and battery capacities as the 47mm and 43mm Classics, respectively. The difference comes from the bezel, of course. The Classic models are £75 off, the vanilla ones are £50 off.

CMF, the affordable offshoot of Nothing, launched its first smartwatch recently. It runs a proprietary OS, but at least it gets up to 13 days of battery life and is quite cheap – cheaper now that it is 10% off. It has a rectangular 1.96” AMOLED display (with AOD) that fits a lot of content, an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and a built-in GPS receiver. The body is made out of aluminum alloy.
