How to remove and add Reel to your profile grid

Meta-owned photo-sharing app Instagram’s short-form video posting feature Reels has become quite popular. Reels allow Instagram users to record and edit short videos by adding music, effects, and voiceovers to the clips they record. Apart from just posting and liking, Instagram also offers users the ability to manage the privacy settings of the Reels they post.

The Instagram profile grid by default shows all the posts and reels posted by the user. In addition, users can decide whether to keep a specific post or reel on their profile grid and can remove or add it back as necessary. Here’s how you can do it:

Removing a Reel from the profile grid

1.

Open the Instagram app on a smartphone.

2.

Go to Profile by tapping on the small profile picture available in the bottom right corner.

3.

Go to the Reels section.

4.

Select the Reel to be removed.

5.

Tap on the three-dot menu option available in the bottom right, and then select the Manage option.

6.

Tap on the Remove from profile grid option.

Adding a Reel back to the profile grid
The Instagram app previously didn’t give users the option to add their removed reels back to their profile grid. This led to inconveniences for both users and creators. They even had to download third-party apps to do it. To help users add their Reels back, the app has added a feature of its own. Here’s how to go about it:

1.

Open the Instagram app on a mobile device.

Choose the Reel that is not displayed on the profile.

5.

Tap on the three-dot menu button available in the bottom right, and then select the Manage option.

6.

Tap on the Add back to profile grid option.
